My Brilliant Friend Patricia
22 Mexborough Drive, Chapeltown
We met at our regional church meeting Manchester/Leeds about 12 years of age and became instant buddies.
We’d write to each other on a regular basis, and always looking forward to the next combine church meeting.
Lunch would be always be shared in our  homes.
I loved visiting 22 Mexborough Drive
Mama, Myrtle, Gena, Baby,Esme,Nell,Millicent, B, Katrina, Henny,Tessa,Conrad and the family continued:)
It was always full of family fun especially when Esme visited and mama would would wink at me and tease her into an argument..:)
after mama had her fun she’ll invite her to eat.
One particular weekend visit i usually share her bed, we chatted and laughed well into the night interrupted by mama banging on the wall to get to sleep its church in the morning…at on stage she came in shaking the broom at us..
When we awoke in the morning mama had already been to church and home again:) she was not happy..:)
I remembered her personal library at the top of the stairs…
We shared books, our christian faith, talked about future plans and goals..
Then handsome Peter became the third person in our relationship:) and soon a wedding was planned..
I was her matron of honour, and godmother to Michaelle.:)
I migrated to Australia in 1977 but kept in touch with letters. later i would ring and she’d write( i’m not a writer)
Each time we visited the Uk there was always a trip to Leeds.
Unfortunately i had a loss of hearing and could not fly for 19 years..
Sofriends, 2010 i had the wonderful pleasure of her visit..it was a joyous meeting at the airport hugging/crying rather loudly:)
We traveled to Sydney, Cairns, The great Barrier Reef, Melbourne, met all our extended families, church family.
Our barrister friend took her for a day in court.
She loved Australia..
contact became spasmodic as months after her visit i was in treatment for breast cancer. later i had total hearing loss and now have a cochlear and a hearing aid..
So many life long memories…to be continued..Till we meet again my friend in that other meeting place.
Our Prayers and Love to all the family
